What This Code Means

The panel detected an unintended electrical path between the system wiring and earth ground.

Common Causes

1Pinched wire in a junction box
2Moisture in conduit or devices
3Damaged wire insulation touching the cabinet

Resolution Steps

Systematically disconnect field circuits (IDCs, NACs, etc.) one at a time until the ground fault clears. Once the circuit is identified, trace the wiring to find the point of contact with ground.
