What This Code Means

The control panel activates a Pre-Alarm Warning when a detector exceeds its programmed Pre-Alarm Alert or Action level, providing an early warning of incipient or potential fire conditions.

Common Causes

1Smoke or heat levels reaching the programmed pre-alarm threshold
2Dust or dirt accumulation in the detector
3Environmental transients or electrical interference
4Incipient fire condition

Resolution Steps

Identify the device address and location from the LCD display. Investigate the specified area for signs of fire or smoke. If no fire is present, inspect the detector for contamination or dust. For 'Alert' (non-latching) conditions, the status will clear automatically when smoke levels drop; for 'Action' (latching) conditions, the system must be reset after the condition is cleared.
