The MS-5024 requires sealed lead-acid batteries with a maximum capacity of 17 Ah. While 7 Ah batteries fit inside the main cabinet, 12 Ah or 17 Ah batteries require the BB-17F external battery box (Page 60) [1].
The system monitors for two specific faults:** Low Battery** at 20.4 VDC and No Battery when voltage drops below 14.2 VDC (Page 59) [1].
To clear a battery fault:
For a Low Battery condition, the panel will self-clear once the battery recharges to a functional level (Page 52) [1].
For a No Battery (displayed as "no_b") condition, the charger automatically shuts off and will not restart on its own (Page 59) [1].
Disconnect the depleted battery from the system.
Install a replacement battery that has a voltage higher than 14.2 VDC to re-engage the charger (Page 59) [1].
Press the RESET key to clear the panel indications once the new battery is connected (Page 52) [1].
