What batteries does the iO64 use and how do I replace them?
The iO64 uses two 12 VDC sealed lead acid batteries connected in series to provide 24 VDC. The internal cabinet accommodates up to two 11 Ah batteries, while larger requirements up to 26 Ah require an external BC-1 battery cabinet (Page 20, 8) [1].
To replace the batteries:
-
Ensure AC power is active, as batteries must only be connected or disconnected while the panel is powered by AC (Page 20) [1].
-
Disconnect the existing battery leads from the TB8 terminal block (Page 11) [1].
-
Remove the old batteries and install the new 12 VDC units in the cabinet.
-
Wire the new batteries in series and connect them to the TB8 terminal (Page 20) [1].
Note that the control panel cannot be started on battery power alone; AC power must be applied first (Page 11) [1].
