What is the difference between Abort Mode 1 (UL 864) and Abort Mode 3 (IRI) on the Aegis 2.0?

Abort Mode 1 (ANSI/UL 864) allows the pre-discharge timer to count down and hold at 10 seconds; if the timer is already under 10 seconds when the abort is pressed, it resets to 10 seconds and resumes once released (Page 20) [1].

Abort Mode 3 (IRI) is only valid for cross-zoned applications and functions like Mode 1, but it only operates if the switch is held after the first alarm and before the second alarm is received (Page 21) [1].

If the second alarm has already occurred or the countdown timer has started, the Mode 3 abort is ignored or disabled (Page 6, 46) [1].
