What This Code Means
A ground fault indicates that a portion of the system's circuitry has an unintended connection to the earth ground, which can compromise the panel's immunity to transients.
Common Causes
- 1Incoming earth ground wire not properly connected to the grounding stud
- 2Ground cable not wired to the bottom position of TB11
- 3AC mains ground cable not installed closest to the backbox
- 4Improperly secured keps nuts on the grounding stud
Resolution Steps
Disconnect all sources of power before servicing. Connect the incoming earth ground wire to supplied cable #71073 with a wire nut. Position the ring terminal end over the grounding stud and secure with a keps nut. Place the ring terminal from the second supplied ground cable over the stud and secure with the second keps nut. Wire the ground cable to the bottom position of TB11. Ensure the AC mains ground is the first cable installed, closest to the backbox.
