What This Code Means
This condition indicates an open circuit has been detected on the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) loop or on an addressable device connected to the loop.
Common Causes
- 1A break or open circuit in the SLC loop wiring
- 2An open circuit on an addressable device
- 3SLC loop resistance exceeding the 40 ohm limit
- 4Incorrect wiring for a loop programmed as Style 6 or Style 7
Resolution Steps
Locate and repair the open circuit or loose connection in the SLC loop wiring and ensure that the loop resistance does not exceed 40 ohms. If the SLC Loop is programmed for Style 6, the trouble condition will latch at the FACP; once the loop has been repaired, wait at least 2 minutes and then press the Reset button at the FACP to clear the SLC trouble.
