This condition indicates a ground fault, specifically zero impedance between the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) and ground.
Common Causes
1Zero impedance between FACP and ground
2Conduit alone used for earth ground without a solid building earth connection
3Improper wire type, gauge, or run length for system circuits
Resolution Steps
Attach solid earth ground wire to grounding stud. Connect ground wire from Earth Ground terminal to a solid building earth, as conduit alone will not provide a reliable earth ground. Disconnect all sources of power before servicing and verify that wire sizes are adequate for all initiating and indicating device loops.
