What This Code Means

The control panel has detected a ground fault condition on the supervised field wiring or initiating device circuits.

Common Causes

1Field wiring contact with ground
2Improper Earth Ground connection to the grounding stud
3Use of conduit for the Earth Ground connection
4Lightning induced transients

Resolution Steps

Check all field wiring for ground faults. Connect the Earth Ground wire (minimum 14 AWG) to the grounding stud indicated by the ground symbol label. Do not use conduit for the Earth Ground connection since this does not provide reliable protection. Verify that wire sizes are adequate for all initiating and indicating device loops.
